Academic journey

My academic foundation is in economics. It served as a stepping-stone prior to my time at Law School(s), ultimately culminating in my doctoral work in Business Management. I have studied at the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition Law and Ludwig Maximilian University in Germany; Erasmus University Rotterdam in the Netherlands; Manchester University in the U.K.; and the College of Engineering Guindy and Delhi University in India. I have received the Max Planck Society Fellowship, the Erasmus Mundus Scholarship, and the Thomas Edison Innovation Fellowship from the Antonin Scalia School of Law (CPIP), George Mason University.

Professional trajectory

As dean/founding dean, I have successfully built and led schools at universities with a culture of academic excellence and multi-disciplinary ethos. As founding director, I have built and led multi-stakeholder, multi-donor international research centres. As a member of the university senate/ leadership team, I have led academic innovation and online learning, as well as the university rankings office. I have curated high-quality academic degree programs, built international and industry partnerships, ensured regulatory compliance, drawn admissions philosophies, created financial models, hired and retained faculty, and prioritised student success.

Areas of impact

I have worked with universities on three continents, five global tech companies, and various government departments. My work in institution-building and strengthening focuses on mindful, empathetic, and creative learning. I currently have 110+ publications, including peer-reviewed articles, manuscripts, edited volumes, and invited op-eds. My last two books on technology innovation have been accessed more than 400,000 times. I work with universities in India to help them realise their vision and reimagine their strategy. I have turned bold ideas and audacious experiments into reality in the evolving knowledge economy with creativity, rigour, and finesse.
