I turn bold ideas into audacious experiments with creativity and finesse. I read and write extensively on tech innovation and patents. I enjoy understanding the evolving higher education space across disciplines. I am currently working with some universities in India to help them realise their vision and reimagine their strategy. In my spare time, I like to educate myself on facets of constitutional law. My fortnightly column (with Insiyah Vahanvaty) in the Hindustan Times is an ongoing effort to make topical constitutional law issues intelligible to myself and relatable to the wider public.

Institution Building

BITS Pilani, Mumbai Campus

As the founding dean at Birla Institute of Technology & Science (or BITS Pilani) – an ā€˜Institution of Eminence’ – I helped set up the law school in the youngest campus of BITS in Greater Mumbai, which was approved by the Bar Council of India in March 2023 and inaugurated by the Finance Minister in February 2024.

Launched by Chancellor K.M. Birla and Vice Chancellor V. Ramgopal Rao, I helped build processes, policies, strategies, and plans, including creating a culture of rigorous academic learning while prioritising student success at BITS Law School.

O.P. Jindal Global University

Before 2023, I helped build O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU) – another ā€˜Institution of Eminence’ – in Delhi NCR for close to a decade. Under Chancellor Naveen Jindal and Vice Chancellor C. Raj Kumar's leadership, I was involved in various strategic initiatives, including creating a one-of-a-kind school in banking & finance.

I led the Centre for Academic Innovation & Online Learning during the COVID-19 pandemic, the university rankings office, and played an instrumental role in receiving the single largest research grant to a law school in S. Asia to work on tech law.
